In 1913, she drew Widow's Pension # 2706, filing from Crittenden County, Ky.

Franklin S. Loyd was born January 9, 1839 in
Crittenden County, Kentucky, the son of Isaac and Mary Hill Loyd.
Isaac was born in Virginia and Mary was born in Kentucky.
Frank enlisted as a Private, on January 30, 1862 in Co. H, 20th Ky. Infantry USA.
He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant on January 30, 1862.
He was discharged January 17, 1865.
He married Sarah Belle Hillyard on November 13, 1865.
It was the first marriage for them both.
Isaac Hughey was surety for the marriage.
Frank signed his marriage license.
Sarah, born about 1844 in Caldwell County, Kentucky
was the daughter of J. J. and Margaret Watson Hillyard.Both of Sarah's parents were born in
Caldwell County, Kentucky.
Frank and Sarah had two children, John I. and Charles B. Sarah died in May of 1869.
He then married Sarah's sister, Cornelia Ann Hillyard on January 30, 1873.
They had two children, Gus Henry, and Fred Hughey. In the 1880 Caldwell County, Kentucky
Census, Frank and Cornelia are living in Fredonia with John aged 13 and Charles B. aged 12.
Cornelia died on June 16, 1884. He married for a third time to ?.
He was a farmer and
also ran a milling business.
He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the 1872 and 1873 Caldwell County, Ky. Militia.
He is listed in the
1910 census as a Union veteran
He died November 30, 1938, the last Civil War Veteran of Caldwell County, Ky.
He was buried in the Fredonia Cemetery.
The informant for the WPA Graves Registration on September 6, 1939, was Howard Rice, a
friend from Fredonia, Ky.
