J.L. DAUGHTRY rejoices over the arrival of another girl at his house.
Iron Hill
A new boy at Bob PHILLIPS'.
A negro by the name of CURRY was chased through our neighborhood last week. His wife had died with small pox and he left his child in Union County, which was broke out with it. It is supposed that he was going to Marion or near Princeton.
George ROBERTS has a fine girl at his house.
Chapel Hill
Married at the residence of Mr. Pressley FORD on the 6th, Mr. Jos. DEBOE to Miss Martha BEBOUT, Rev. James ROWLAND officiating, also on the 7th, by Esq. Frank PARIS, Mr. Wm. MASSEY and Catherine BARTHELOW were pronounced one.
It is rumored that Bradley CRIDER will go to California this spring.
Shady Grove
Another girl at Dock STEPHEN's, weight 15 pounds. There are three little girls at Mr. S.'s and the oldest can walk some.
Mrs. Tilda KEMP died of consumption last week, leaving a husband and two little children.

Princeton, Mar 13 - A few days since two Eddyville brothers named TATUM, aged 12 and 14 years, got into a fight and one of them struck the other on the head with a rock, from the effects of which he died.
Stonewall
Oh! What will the girls do? Thos. DOLLINS is going to California.
By skillful treatment of Dr. DEBOE, J.L. RUSHING is recovering but Alice RUSHING is confined with the same fever, pneumonia.
Miss Annie WHEELER died last Friday, by her death we have lost an intelligent young lady.
Centreville
Mrs. MONAN, wife of Chas. MONAN, died at her home near this place last Wednesday of consumption, she leaves a husband and child.
Hurricane
J.F. LYNN and family are going to move to Dakota in a few days.
Crooked Creek
Mrs. Caroline HUGHES died last Sunday and was buried at Mt. Zion.
Obituaries
Gone home, died at her parents' home in this county March 16th, little Ethel, daughter of M.T. and Sarah Lizzie WORLEY aged 5 years and 20 days. While she was dying she told her Papa she wanted to go home.
Joseph V. SHIRLEY was born in Crittenden Co in 1847 and died 21 Mar 1883. He was severely afflicted for many months with that fatal disease, consumption. He died in peace with God, having been a member of the Methodist church for a number of years. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his loss.
11 April 1883 Marriage Bells
Married on the 5th of April, 1883, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. J.W. HARPENDING, by the Rev. J.F. PRICE, Mr. Albert U. LAMB and Miss Lula B. HARPENDING.
Mr. Reed LAMB and Miss Kitty Lee DAVIS of Salem acted as attendants. The costumes of the bride and groom were neat and appropriate. Mr. LAMB will take his wife to Lola,
Livingston Co, where he has lately built a residence and furnished it ready for housekeeping.
Local News
Mrs. Nannie DEAN, wife of Dr. T.L. DEAN of this place, died in Greenville last Friday, after lying unconscious for several hours. A few days since while she was sitting in a
chair knitting, a paralytic stroke rendered her insensible and powerless and remained in that state until she died.
Mr. R.H. KEMP of the Shady Grove neighborhood announces himself a candidate for Assessor.
Miss Ella FOWLER died at the residence of her father, Wm. FOWLER near the Crittenden Spring, Monday night. She had been lingering with consumption.
Salem
Mr. Sam GRIMES and family and Jas. WHITE started to Arkansas the 27th.
Caldwell Springs
The health of our vicinity is still bad. Mrs. TURLEY is expected to die with pneumonia. Mrs. TABOR is very sick with pneumonia.
South Crittenden
Pneumonia fever is again raging through this portion of the county. W.T. BRASHER's family are nearly all sick, about four of A.J. STINNETT's children are quite sick, Jackson BROWN's little girl is sick. William TABER's wife and Martin ASBRIDGE's wife are both sick.
18 April 1883 Bethel
Married at the residence of the bride's father on Sunday, April 8th, J.E. THOMAS to Mrs. Josephine BLACK.
The infant child of Dock FRANKS died last week.
Weston had her town election last week, which resulted as follows: Police Judge, J.S. HEATH; Town Attorney, J.L. HUGHES; Marshal, Charlie WILSON; Trustees, S. HAYNES, W.H. NUNN, Otho NUNN, T.N. LAMB and J.H. DAVIDSON.
Local News Mr. S.O. NUNN came to town Monday and surrendered himself to the Police Judge. Sam is thoroughly penitent and regrets that he drank the whiskey that made him act as he did.
The County Surveyor is engaged in surveying the lands belonging to the estate of Henry WALLACE dec'd. There are several hundred acres of this land.
John STEVENS and Albert JONES got into a fight near Princeton a few days ago and JONES fired a load of small shot into his enemy's face.

Obituary
Mattie, wife of H.L. SULLIVAN,
and daughter of Thomas and Permelia TRUITT, died at her home in Crittenden Co Feb 19, 1883, aged 42 years,
one month and 19 days. She leaves a husband and 9 children who deeply feel her loss. She professed religion in 1855 at
Mt. Zion during a meeting conducted by Rev. YATES, who was then pastor of that church. Although she was afflicted
for several years before her death, she bore it with Christian patience. She was a kind sister, an affectionate wife and mother.
We feel she is safely anchored in Heaven where pain and sorrow is no more; where she will
meet her aged father and mother and two brothers who have gone before.
Lamb
Mr. Billy FARLEY and Miss Cordie BRANTLEY crossed the river and were married.
Miss Lizzie LUCAS is teaching school at Seminary Springs.
Shady Grove
Mrs. Lem MORGAN of Caldwell Co died a few days ago of consumption.
Iron Hill
Mack WALKER's little girl died last week.
Dr. W.B. LAMB and wife have separated. It seems as though one house cannot contain both of them.
Lily Dale
The wife of Dr. RORER, died last Friday after an illness of several days. A large crowd witnessed her death.
High Hill
John MILLER has gone to Morissa, IL.
Our old friend, Spencer PICKERING, formerly a citizen of this county, died a few weeks since.
Lucian TRUITT left yesterday for IL, where he expects to remain through the summer.
Mrs. Belle WILSON is still very low with consumption.

In The Clerk's Office April 25, Lizzie ROBERTS and her child declared paupers and Henry YANDELL ordered to deliver them to the poor house.
April 28, W.P. HARDIN was appointed and qualified as guardian of Sam. F. KIMSEY.
May 1, the Superintendent of the poor house was ordered to deliver to Gurt TURNER, her child which is at the poor house.
Fredonia
Mr. J.H. MAXWELL and family will soon leave for Duvall's Bluff, AR, where they will make their future home.

Married May 3, 1883, at Arlington Chapel, near Nashville, TN, Mr. H.C. McGOODWIN to Miss Fannie BRYAN.
Mr. McGOODWIN and bride arrived in Marion Monday afternoon.
Information Wanted
Whereas my son, John L. OVERBY, who lives near Dixon, Webster County, wandered away from his home on the 12th day of April, 1883, about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, since that
time I have heard nothing of him and I appeal to the people and to the press for information concerning him, or that will lead to his apprehension.
He is of the following description.
Thirty-one years old, weighs 140 pounds, 5 feet 11 inches high, straight and slender, black hair and black drooping mustache, blue eyes. Has the following marks on his person: initials
of his name tattooed on one arm and a picture of a woman on the other; a star on one hand and a heart on the other. When he left he had on light jeans pants, dark coat, black hat, checked
or striped shirt and common screw bottom shoes. Any information addressed to Lemuel OVERBY, Dixon, KY will be thankfully received.
Obituary
Died at her residence near Chapel Hill in Crittenden Co April 23rd 1883, Mrs. Jane WALKER, wife of Mr. B.F. WALKER, aged 33 years and 9 months. She professed religion early in life,
united with the Baptist church. She was an esteemable, amiable friend, affectionate and loving wife and mother.
She leaves a husband, four little children and relatives and friends.
16 May 1883 Births
Born to Rev. L.O. SPENCER and wife, Friday, 11 May 1883, a girl. Born to R.E. PICKENS and wife, Sunday, 13 May 1883, a girl.
Hurricane
One of Mr. Al CLARK's little boys died very suddenly last Thurs. night. He ate supper and retired to bed apparently well. About 12 o'clock
his parents heard him making a strange noise, and upon asking him what was the matter, receiving no answer, they went into his room and found him dead.
Stonewall
Jas. OAKLEY's little boy died recently.
A large crowd witnessed the burial of Bradley CRIDER at the Piney cemetery last Wednesday.
23 May 1883
Small Pox Marion, KY, May 15th 1883 - The Local Board of Health met and quarantined Shady Grove against all persons who have been exposed to the infection
of small pox. They also notified all those who had been with Mrs. KEMP after the eruption had come out to isolate themselves from other persons for 30 days.
Personal
Henry GILBERT, who left this county a few years ago to seek his fortune in the West, has united his destiny with a Texas maiden, and has settled down near Gainsville, Cook County.
Dr. Richard SHELBY of Salem paid us a call Saturday. He is barely 21, yet he is a graduate of one of the first Medical Schools of the State. He will open an office in Salem.
