Book 6, page 487, Feb. 23, 1881.
Ordered that Abner Linthicumn, wife and child be hereby declared
Paupers and it is ordered that they be sent to the Poor House to be cared for as the Law requires.
Book 6, page 496, May 21, 1881.
On motion of Mrs. A. H. Hardesty and it appearing to the satisfaction of the
Court that W. T. Hardesty departed this life intestate on the 24th of April 1881 in said county.
It therefore ordered that M. A. Hardesty, his wife be and she is hereby appointed administrator of said decedent’s estate.
Wm. Hardin and J. T. Hardesty & L. N. Hill as her sureties.

On motion of Chesley Nunn and it appearing to the satisfaction the Court that
Wm. Straker departed this life intestate on the 9th day of May 1881 & his widow surviving him filed in open Court,
waiving her right and requesting the Court to appoint said Nunn as Administrator of said Estate of her dead husband.
Chelsey Nunn was appointed administrator with Otha Nunn his surety.
(William Straker was a Dr. and he was from
Liverpool, England. He was first married to Jane N. Moore, she died April 4, 1870 and is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
William 2nd married Mrs. Nancy M. (Nunn) Robinson, April 20, 1870. Just a little over two weeks after Jane died.
Nancy was the daughter of Chesley Nunn. William doesn’t have a stone listed in the Cemetery Books.
There are two unmarked graves next to Jane N. Moore Strake at Mt. Zion, I wonder if perhaps one of these isn’t William.)
Book 7, page 68, Feby 21, 1882.
On motion of Wm. A. Brasher and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court, that
he is a man of good moral habits & a minister of the Gospel in good standing & in communion with the United Baptist Church,
it is therefore ordered that he be & he is hereby permitted to solemnize the rites of matrimony between parties legally authorized
to receive the same in this Commonwealth, whereupon in open Court, the said Brasher, with J. H. Rhyne as his surety
Executed & acknowledged bond.
Book 7, page 114, July 26, 1882.
On motion of M. Worley, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that
Zacharia Worley departed this life on the 1st day of Jan 1882, in said county, intestate, leaving surviving him neither
widow or children. It is therefore ordered that said M. Worley be and he is hereby granted letters of administration
upon the Estate of said Decedent.
(No stone found for Zacharia Worley, but it is thought by family researches he is
buried at Crooked Creek Cemetery.)
Book 7, page 179, Feb. 11, 1882.
On motion of J. W. Stovall, it appearing to the satisfaction of the court, that he is
very old & infirmed and in bad health & without means for a support & wholly unable to perform manual labor, it is
therefore ordered by the court that he be declared a Pauper & the keeper of the Poor House is hereby ordered to
take charge of him and care for him as the law requires.
(Mr. Stovall died May 22, 1883 and is buried in the Stovall-Wilson
Cemetery. He does have a stone. His name was Jackson W., but was also called John W. His wife Mary/Polly Rodgers is
buried at the Sisco Chapel Cemetery)
Book 7, page 183, Dec. 23, 1882
Present & Presiding His Honor, J. P. Pierce Judge. It appearing to the satisfaction
of the Court that John T. Gardner, the duly qualified Assessor for said county Departed thisl ife in Nov. 1882, thereby
causing said office vacant. It is therefore ordered by the Court that James B. Carter, be & he hereby appointed Assessor
for Crittenden County. (John T. Gardner is buried at Shady Grove Cemetery. His tombstone gives the death date as
Oct. 3, 1882)
Book 7, page 189, Jany 8, 1883.
On motion of Jesse F. Paris, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Milos Summers
departed this life intestate, in said county, more than 3 months ago, leaving no widow surviving him. Jesse F. Paris is hereby
granted letters of administration upon the Estate of said decedent.
(Milos Summers is buried in the Rushing Cemetery on the Emery Stevens Rd., off of Crayne Cemetery Road.
He has a Civil War stone, Co. B 48th Ky Inf. It has no birth or death dates. He was married to Eliza Morgan.)

On motion of Mrs. Nora Pemberton, it appearing to the satisfaction of the court, that
she is in very delicate health and not able to perform manual labor, without money and no home or place of abode, it is
therefore ordered by the court that she be and is herby declared to be a pauper.
Book 7, page 190, January 30, 1883.
On motion of Mrs. L. A. Hollomon, it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that
Lewis Holloman departed this life on the 21st day of January 1883 in said county, intestate, leaving surviving him, Mrs. L. A.
Holloman his widow.
It is therefore ordered that said Mrs. L. A. Holloman, be granted letters of administration upon the Estate of said
decedent.
(Lewis Holloman has stone at Crooked Creek Cemetery.)
Book 7, page 209, March 12, 1883.
On motion of T. H. Bunton, it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that Charles
Bunton departed this life intestate on the 25th day of Sept 1882 leaving no widow or children surviving him.
It is therefore ordered that said T. H. Bunton be granted letters of administration on the Estate of said Decedent, where upon
in open Court, he took the oath required by Law and with W. H. Smith, A. L. Charles, Chas. Smith & J. H. Clifton as his
sureties.

On motion of B. H. Crowell, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that Hugh M.
Crowell departed this life intestate in said county on the 25th day of Febry 1883, leaving surviving him, his widow Eliza Ann
Crowell who by an instrument of writing filed with the court waving her right to administer in favor of said B. H. Crowell.
It is therefore ordered by the court that letters of administration are hereby granted said B. H. Crowell due form.
(Hugh Crowell is who the Crowell Cemetery is named after, his wife was Eliza Ann Kemp and B. H. was
Benjamin Harvey Crowell. Some of the family gave his death date as Feb. 1884)
Book 7, page 232, April 12, 1883.
On motion of Mary Ellen Kimsey orphan of Jas. H & Lottie Kimsey above the age
of 15 years appeared in open Court, & made choice of Shim H. Watson as her Guardian. It is ordered by the Court,
that letters of Guardianship be & they are granted him in due form upon the Estate of said Mary Ellen Kimsey.

On motion of W. P. Hardin, it is ordered that he be & is hereby appointed Guardian
for Saml. F. Kimsey, orphan child of James & Sallie Kimsey Decd’, under the age of 14 years.

Ordered that Sue Fowler be appointed Guardian for her infant child under 14 years of
age., Mary Willie Fowler. Burton Ford and George W. Howell as her sureties.

On motion of J. W. Fletcher, it is ordered that he and is appointed Guardian for his
children, viz Sarah Ann, James A., Eliza E., Chas. R., William H., Elliott W., and Mary Fletcher; all children and the only
children by his wife Eliza A. Fletcher now deceased. Where upon in open Court he took the oath required by Law and with
J. E. Stephenson his surety.

It appearing to the satisfaction of the court that J. W. Paris is a merchant in good faith doing business at Fords Ferry.
It is therefore ordered that he be granted Merchants License to sell Liquors at his place of business in quantities not less
than a quart, subject to the restrictions imposed by the Statutes.
On motion of John Barger, it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that John Bebout departed this life on the 12th day
of July 1883 in said county intestate, leaving surviving him, his widow, who waivers her right to administer, in favor of
John Barger. He is herby granted letters of administration upon the Estate of said John Bebout Decd, whereupon in open
Court, he took the oath required by Law with H. F. Beard as his surety.

On motion of S. H. Cassidy, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that J. C. Cassidy departed this life in testate, in
said County on the day of Sept, 1883, leaving surviving him his wife Lula M. Cassidy who by an instrument of writing filed
with the Court waives her right to administer in favor of said S. H. Cassidy, It is therefore ordered that said S. H. Cassidy
is granted letters of administration upon the Estate of said J. C. Cassidy deceased.

On motion of J. H. Clark, it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that Joshua Kemp departed this life intestate, leaving
no wife or children surviving him. It is therefore ordered that letters of administration be granted J. H. Clark upon the estate
of said deceased.
(Joshua Kemp in buried in the Kemp family cemetery in the eastern part of the county.)
Book 7, page 315, Oct. 17, 1883.
Whereas Taylor Elliott is in almost destitute circumstances and very likely to become a charge upon this County, and it
appearing to the satisfaction of the court that he is very anxious to leave this County and make his home with his sister in
Pulaski County, Ky. and having applied to this Court for means to enable him to make said trip: It is therefore ordered by
the Court that E. C. Flanary, Sheriff, pay to said Elliott the Sum of Five Dollars, for the purpose aforesaid, out of any public
funds in hand belonging to said County and he shall have credit for same in settlement for his 1882 accounts.

On motion of A. Koltinskey, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that he is a merchant in good faith & doing busines
in Marion Ky., under the firm name & style of Koltinsky & Co., It is there fore ordered by the Court, that he be granted a
Merchants License to sell Liquors in quantities of not less than a quart at his place of business upon the payment of Tax
required by Law.

On motion of J. C. Allen, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that he is a merchant in good faith and doing business at
Liberty (alis Needmore) in said County. It is there fore ordered by the Court, that he be granted a Merchants License to sell
Liquors in quantities of not less than a quart at his place of business upon the payment of Tax required by Law.
Book 7, page 397, July 3, 1884.
On motion of H. L. Sullivan, it is ordered that he be and he is hereby appointed guardian for his minor children viz:
Cordelia D., Wm. R., Albert L., Eddie R., Willie E., Jas. H.E., Martha C., and Joseph L. Sullivan.
Whereupon in open court he took the oath required by law and with E. L. Nunn his surety.
(Hamilton L. Sullivan, was married to Martha S. Truitt. She died February 19, 1883 at the age
of forty-two years, one month and nineteen days. She is buried in Green’s Chapel Cemetery.
H. L. died Oct. 3, 1919, after being married two more times, and is also buried there.)

On motion of Isaac Conger and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that W. J. Conger departed this life in
said county intestate on t he 23rd July 1884, leaving surviving him his widow, Julia A.(Spurr), who relinquishes her right to
administer in favor of the said Isaac Conger.

On Motion of R. L. Wilson, it appearing to t he satisfaction of the court that Daniel Travis departed this life
intestate on the 29th day of Oct. 1884. It is therefore ordered by the Court, that he be and is appointed administrator
of the personal estate of said Daniel Travis. (Daniel is buried at Piney Fork Cemetery.)
Book 7, page 443, Sept. 8, 1884.
On motion of J. L. McDowell, it is ordered that he is appointed guardian for his two minor children, viz: M. A.
and John C. McDowell. Where upon in open court he took the oat required by low.
Book 7, page 443, November 10, 1884.
On motion of George W. Nichols and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth F.
Nichols departed this life, intestate on the 15th day of Oct. 1884. It is therefore ordered by the court that he be appointed
administrator of the personal estate of said Elizabeth F. Nichols. J. J. Bennett his surety.

On motion of L. A. Weldon and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court, that Jas. D. Duncan, departed this
life on the 29th day of Oct. 1884 in said county, intestate, leaving no widow or children surviving him. It is therefore ordered
by the Court that he be granted letters of administration upon the estate of said Jas. D. Duncan Decd.
(James D. Duncan is buried at Hurricane Cemetery, the date on his stone is different from the court records.)
Book 7, page 448, November 17, 1884.
On motion of Mary E. Corn and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court, that George W. Watson Sr. departed this life
intestate on the 9th day of Nov. 1884 in said county of Crittenden, having surviving him his only heir, said Mary E. Corn who
by an instrument of writing filed with court waives her right to administer and request the court to appoint her husband J. C.
Corn administration of said decedents estate and accept G. W. Corn, G. W. Watson and J. E. Tharp as his sureties.
Book 7, page 454, Dec. 8, 1884.
On motion J. L. Chadwick, produced to court a certified copy of his letters of Guardianship granted him by the Parker County
Court in the state of Texas for Lula A. LaRue, which are in due form. Ordered that same be field and court to turn over to
him the estate of said Lula A. LaRue, who is a minor heir of K. P. LaRue, deceased. It appearing that H. M. Jennings, who
was the statutory guardian for said LaRue has settled his accounts & deposited with the Judge of this court the amount he
was owning said ward, amt. of $464.96. It is therefore ordered by the court that said sum of money due said ward be paid over to
J. L. Chadwick as Guardian for said Lula A. LaRue, she having removed to Texas & is now living with said Chadwick who
is her Brother- in- Law. It is further ordered that said letters of Guardianship & said Chadwick’s receipts when received be
filed with the settlement made by H. J. Jennings.
