Claude M. Guess
Dies Last Thursday
Rites Held Sunday

Claude Malcolm Guess, 60
died last Thursday night at his
home in Tribune section after an
illness of the past seven months
He had been in critical condition
the three weeks preceding death.

Born in Repton section he
attended Oakland school late
transferring to Post Oak. For
a number of years he was co-oper-
ator of blacksmith shop here
with his brother, Elbert. Several
years ago the firm was dis-ban
ded and he opened a plumbing
shop later accepting employment
at Camp Breckenridge, Ky. retir
ing from this with advent of fail
ing health. His entire lifetime
was spent in Crittenden county

Member of Repton Cumberl
Presbyterian church he was
choir leader of many years,
superintendent of the Sunday
school for several terms. He was
a member of Knights of Phytias
when the organization maintai-
ned lodge rooms in this city

Survivors are his wife forme-
Lennie Maud Nunn; a
daughter, Mrs. Wm. H. Ford,
Louisville; four sons, Wm. Mal-
com Guess, U.S. Aviation Corps
Guy Nunn Guess, TVA, Paris
Tenn; Billie Ray Guess, Whee-
ling, W. VA.; and Norman Lee
Guess, U.S. Army; two sisters
Mrs. Harry Ramage, Orlando
Fla., and Mrs. Geo. Travis, city
two brothers, John Henderson
and Elbert L. Marion.

Funeral services were conduc-
ted Sunday afternoon from
Marion Methodist church with
Dr. H. H. Jones, officiating
Interment was in Repton ceme-
tery under direction of Tucker
and Franklin.

Casket-bearers were the four
sons, son-inlaw, and Roy Newton
Guess.
