1825KY,
State Senator Daniel Garrard, of Knox,
Harlan, Clay, Perry and Whitley Counties,
introduced a bill entitled An act
to establish the county of Laurel.
Apparently the creation
of this county was a political hot spot
and secrecy surrounded its passage. It
was passed and
one of its first appointed commissioners
was Daniels new son-in-law, Gabriel
W. Price.
