Note from JudyScanned images of this bible were provided by J. Robert Danley of Bella Vista, Arkansas who currently has possession of this bible found a cousin, Terry Danley. They are descendants of Jonathan Hunt, son of Levi B. Hunt.
The bible is a Collins Stereotype Edition published by Charles Evers, Boston and stereotyped by B. & J. Collins, NY. Printed about 1816, 3rd edition.
First entries were of the births and marriage of Levi B. Hunt to Nancy Buckner and the birth of their children. Those entries appear to have been entered at the same time in the same handwriting, probably by Levi B. Hunt. The last entry in this handwriting was the marriage of Eliza Mariah Hunt to Absalom Bowman Aug. 8, 1844. Levi B. Hunt died October 15, 1845. Later entries varied in ink, handwriting, etc.

Levi B. Hunt was a resident of Monroe Co. Tennessee from 1828 until 1836. He was a resident of Clay Co., Kentucky from 1837 until 1843 when Owsley Co. was established. The county line ran down Levi’s property line with Levi B. Hunt being in Owsley Co. Kentucky.
Based on dates, places of birth and marriages, I believe that Nancy Buckner Hunt, the widow of Levi B. Hunt and children Caroline Celena, Elizabeth, James B., and Jonathan Hunt and their families traveled from Owsley Co., Kentucky to Barry County Missouri between July 1, 1853 and October 4, 1853. Daughter, Eliza Mariah Hunt Bowman and family joined the rest of the Hunts in Barry Co., Missouri between 1857 and 1860. All are listed on the 1860 Barry Co., Missouri Census.
(Note: Column 1 lists birth of their daughter “Purl” in 1884. Their daughter Fannie born in 1879 is missing)
I am a descendant of James B. Hunt
