23rd Feb. 1843
This indenture made and entered into this 23 day of February between Margaret Sigler
widow and relict of David Sigler deceased of the one part and James Keeny of the other
part both parties of the county of Caldwell and state of Kentucky witnesseth that the
said Margaret Sigler for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars to her in hand
paid by said Keeny the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and also for the further
consideration herein after mentioned ((can't read this word) this day and did by these
presents grant bargain sell convey and forever confirm unto the said Keeny and his heirs
the said interest and tittle which she the said Margaret Sigler has so?? and to the
following discounted???tract piece or parcel of land being her dower in the land estate
of her late husband D. Sigler desc. situate in the said county and State of Kentucky of
Donaldson's Fork
Beginning at a white oak and hickory the original beginning corner
thence West with William Love's line 97 poles to black oak thence S34 W 44 poles to a
hickory thence S 69 E 120 Poles to a stake in the original lineof Jo Love's survey.
Thence with the same N9 E120 poles to the beginning. Containing sixty acres more or
less.
And the said Margaret Sigler doth hereby also convey transfer and assign over to
the said Keeny and his heirs forever all the notes which she now has in her possession on
divers individuals amounting to about 100 dollars and also all and every interest and
claim which she has or might have in and to the personal estate notes accounts.XX Now in
the hands of J.A. Cartwright or any person for him as the acting administrator of the
said David Sigler deceased. The true intent and meaning of this deed being to convey and
give to the said Keeny all the property and estate of the said Margaret Sigler of
whatsoever kind or nature it may be her farming implements etc. in consideration of her
natural love and affection for the said James Keeny and in consideration of his
undertaking and promise as follows towit/ The said James Keeny on his part and in
consideration of the foregoing conveyance to him doth by these presents promise agree to
bind himself and his heirs to the said Margaret Sigler that he will support and kindly
and affectionately maintain the said Margaret comfortably for and during the term of his
natural life and to furnish to her in every particular in such manner and such
neccessaries as the said Margaret has been used and accustomed to And the said Margaret
doth covenant to warrant and defend her dower or life estate in said land &
appurtenences and the whole and entire right to all the other property such as notes,
household, and kitchen furniture farming utensils etc. to the said James Keeny and his
heirs & assigns against all claims forever by these presents.

Commonwealth of Kentucky, County of Caldwell.
I Charles B. Dallam clerk of the county court for said county do certify that this deed
from Margaret Sigler unto James Keeny was this day produced to me in my office and
acknowledged by said Mrs. Margaret Sigler to be her act and deed hand and seal for the
purposes therein contained.
Whereupon I have truly recorded the same and this certificate in my said office given
under my hand this 25th day of February 1843.
