Obituary:
Robert Maddox Dies Sunday - Robert Maddox, 81, of Rt. 1, Ashland, died Sunday in an Ashland hospital after an illness of 6 months. Mr. Maddox was born Feb. 6, 1884, in Kentucky, a son of the late Charles and Margaret Creech Maddox. He was a retired farmer, and had resided in Boyd County for 28 years. He attended the Baptist Church. Mr. Maddox was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Johnson Maddox who died in 1927. He was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Everett Bryant of Rt. 1, Ashland, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Mabel Ison of Ashland; three sons, Ezra Maddox of Ashland, Glen Maddox of Columbus O., and Everett Maddox of Hazard, Ky.; two brothers, George Maddox of Fielden, Ky., and Edward Maddox of Gaylord, Mich., 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Straight Creek Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Raymond Burton. Burial will be in the family cemetery in Elliott Count! y. Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Earl Sexton, Eddie Sexton, Glen Bradford, Chester Adkins Sr., Chester Adkins Jr., and Robert Moon.
