Obituary:
Marion McPeek, 78, a retired river man died at 3:45 am today at his home 215 Fortieth Street following an illness of three years. Marion McPeek who had been employed by the Ashland Oil & Refinery Company for 20 years prior to his retirement was born January 8, 1872 in Lawrence County Ky. A son of John K and Thursa Hodge McPeek. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 pm at the Christian Baptist Church on 39th Street with the Rev. Henderson Selby officiating . Burial will be in Williams Cemetery. The body will be removed from the Lazear Funeral Home to the home of a daughter, Mrs. George Valentine, 4639 Boyd Street, at 10:30 am tomorrow. Surviving are the widow, Mrs Martha Blankenship McPeek: two sons, Herman McPeek, Pittsburgh, Pa. and Harry McPeek, Ashland: four other daughters, Mrs. Vada Nichols, Mrs. Ruth Darty and Mrs. Marie Centers, Ashland, and Mrs. Nellie Lewis, Hillsboro, Ky; one sister, Mrs. Georgia Gallaher, Cincinnati; two brothers, J! ohn McPeek, Cincinnati, and Charles McPeek, Huntington. 32 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
