Grandpa Brasher had two brothers who were also steamboat men
- Captain James E.{"Big Jim"}
BRASHER b "on the banks of Steep Gut Creek" and
- Captain G. Wymond Brasher, also born in
Boone County.
- They had one sister, who never married:
Elizabeth "Lizzy" Brasher.
[ There are other Brasher rivermen, although I do not know specific
names.]
4th Generation:
Captain Charles Hunt BRASHER, b 1909, Rising
Sun, Ind. & Mary Louise PHILLIPS,
1912 Newport Ky {Dad was Captain of the "SS Delta Queen", and
my Mother was the Social
Director. I traveled with them as "Mascot" until I started school
in 1953. Dad was the Captain
on the Steamer "Belle of Louisville" when he passed away in
1975, thus bringing a close to the lengthy
"Brasher Boys" steamboating legacy.}
5th Generation:

Edward Ross HUNT {son of Edward Blackburn HUNT}
& Eliza Anne MOORE.
Child:
Fleta Whicher HUNT, b in Rising Sun, is from
the HUNT family of Rising Sun and of
Lawrenceburg. Their family's "Island Farm" was located on Laugherty
Island.
Rodgers
Generation #1:
Warren RODGERS & Elizabeth ALLEN
{Warren Rodgers is listed in Collin's History of Kentucky as
one of the prominent Boone Co.
citizens who were arrested and taken to Lexington to be held until the
end of the Civil War}
Child:
Anna Elizabeth RODGERS
Note from Mary: This is where my luck has run out in
tracing my roots. I truly
appreciate anything that anyone has to add, or any suggestions that you
might have. Its
hard to be this far away from Boone County KY and "itchin'"
to research "back home." {I've lived in
Texas since 1958.}
