Placenames

Bath County Placenames from the Robert M. Rennick Manuscript Collection at Morehead State University.

Montgomery County Placenames are also included, since Bath Co. was part of Montgomery Co. until 1811.

Menifee County Placenames are included, as well, since much of Menifee Co. was part of Bath Co. until 1869.

I have come across a few other places not mentioned in Rennick's collection.

  • Alley was a stop (1905 map) on the Licking Valley R.R. in southeastern Bath County.
  • Goll's Mill was located circa 1861 at the Licking River just north of Beaver Creek's mouth. This would now be in Menifee Co.
  • Krings was a stop (1911 Rand McNally map) on the Licking Valley R.R. in southeastern Bath County and possibly another name for the Yale or Zilpo community.
  • Riverside was a stop (1905 map) on the Licking Valley R.R. in southeastern Bath County.
  • Union was a stop (1905 map) on the Licking Valley R.R. in southeastern Bath County.
