Considering the general uncertainty of human life and more especially in my present feeble state of health I have thought it prudent & proper while my mental faculties are yet unimpaired. To make this my last will & testament . To my Nancy button I hereby bequeath a certain tract of land (containing ninety four & a fourth acres) lying in Barren County Kentucky in a southwesterly direction from Hanging Fork Church and distant the nearest part of it, a few hundred yds from Sd church called by Jesse Morris in his deed to Jordan A Morris of record in the Barren County Court lot No 3 Sd deed dated 14th September 1845 - with the exception only of some slight alteration of boundary as shown by comparing Sd Jesse Morris deed aforesaid with Jordan A Morris’s deed to me dated 14th of October 1848 also of record in Sd court & to which reference is had for the present true boundary now my wish and intention is if my wife should survive me to make her the sole owner of Sd land during her life Elbridge G Martin & his heirs the owners afterwards. In testimony of which I hereto subscribe my name the date above.
