Ernest YOUNG - 22 Dec 1890 - 8 June 1939
Barren county lost one of its most outstanding citizens last Thursday with the passing of Mr. Ernest
Young, 48, well known farmer of the Finney section, who died at the Samson Community Hospital at
10:15 a.m., following an illness of two months.
Mr. Young was born and reared in the Finney section and was widely known throughout the county.
For several years he had been active in the civic development of his community and was held in highest
esteem by a wide circle of friends. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kate Young; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Barton, Glasgow; a son, Mr. Rodney
Young, Lucas; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Mutter, Finney, and Mrs. Rennie Howard, Illinois; four brothers, Messrs F. F. and Herbert Young, Finney; Ruel Young, Lucas and T. E. Young, Rocky Hill.
Funeral services were conducted at the Young home at Finney Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial was
in the Smith cemetery.
