Missionary Baptist Church of Glasgow where she participated in numerous church organizations. Served
as vice president for 14 years and president for 13 years of the Liberty District Women's Missionary
Convention, as president of the First Missionary Baptist Church Senior Missionary for over 40 years as well as teacher of the primary Sunday School class and charter member of the Builders' Club.
Honored with life membership pin to the State Missionary Convention, recognized as President Emeritus
of the Liberty District Missionary Convention and President Emeritus of the Senior Missionary Service of
First Baptist Church until her death, at which time she was the oldest member of her church.

high school in Frankfort KY, received an A B degree from Kentucky State College where she majored in
elementary education.
Widow of the late John Moss Wood Sr of Barren Co who preceded her in death.
Prior to retirement in 1972, she devoted 34 years to education. She began her teaching career at the
Summer Shade School where she served for two years.Went on to serve 13 years in the Barren County
School system at Rocky Hill and Poplar Grove. Taught high school for one year at Robert R Moten High
School in Marianna, Arkansas. Returned to Glasgow City school system and taught 18 years at the Ralph
Bunche School and Liberty Street Elementary School where she retired.
Served as treasurer of the Glasgow-Barren County Retired Teachers Association, was a member of the
Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the National Retired Teachers Association. Also served her
alma mater as a member of the Kentucky State University Alumni Association. In her early days of
teaching, she also drove the school bus. When electricity was made available to rural areas of Barren
County, she volunteered to assist consumers with using electricity and operating electrical appliances.
She was very artistic. As a member and regular attendee of the Glasgow Senior Citizen Center, she
delighted in leather working, ceramics, crocheting and other crafts. She was an avid reader and
dedicated student of the Bible.
