"THE DEATH OF MR. A. R. WHITNEY, Last Monday

"Mr. A. R. Whitney died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert Harrison, at Austin Monday, of influenza. He was 84 years of age. Burial was Tuesday at Mt. Olivet.

"Mr Whitney was twice married. His first wife was Miss Susan Devasher. To this union were born four children - Mrs. Robert Harrison and Mrs. Sidney Berry, both of Austin; Mrs. Charlie Jewell and Mrs. ___ Akers, both of Pageville. All of these children survive him. His second marriage was to Mrs. Joe Bybee, who died a few years ago.

"Mr. Whitney was a member of the Baptist church, and one of the purest, finest men Barren county ever knew. Honorable, righteous and gentle, Mr. Whitney was that type of citizen often referred to as exemplary. He was greatly loved and esteemed and his passing removed a man whose influence for good was far reaching."

Unknown Glasgow KY newspaper, from the files of the late Birdie Lutzow.

Not buried at Mt Olivet as noted, buried at the Whitney Cemetery.
