GOOD CITIZEN PASSES AWAY.

Mr. John C[lark] Wells died at his home two miles this side of Cave City, Monday morning at the age of 80 years.

His wife, who was Miss Bettie Eubank, died a number of years ago, and he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Judge B. Jewell, with whom he lived.

Mr. Wells was born in the Poplar Spring section, a son of the late "Uncle" Billy Wells, but has been living in the Cave City section for many years, his entire life being spent in Barren County.

He leaves one half-brother, Mr. Luther L. Wells, who lives on an adjoining farm. The Dougherty Brothers of this place are nephews.

Mr. Wells was a very prosperous citizen and was an unusually successful farmer and trader during his active years. He was the very embodiment of honor and truthfulness in all his dealings and had the confidence of all who knew him.

The burial was in the cemetery at Poplar Log, beside the remains of his late wife, yesterday afternoon, after funeral services by Revs. Kirby Smith and J. L. Piercy."
