Pernetta Summers

Submitted by Sandi Gorin. She notes:
"I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information."

"Mrs. Pernetta Summers died at her home near here last Friday. She had been affected for a long time with heart trouble, and her death was no surprise to her children and relatives. She realized the fact that death was likely to come to her at any time, and was fully prepared to meet the summons. She was a member of the Baptist church and had been for many years. Her funeral was preached by Rev. J. M. Bruce, after which she was interred in the family burying ground, near her residence, in the presence of a large crowd of relatives and friends. Mrs. Summers was one of the best women in the vicinity in which she lived, and her death is a great loss to the community. Her excellent family of children and relatives have the sympathy of all their neighbors and friends in the time of their great sorrow. She was seventy-two years old at the time of her death. Having lived out her alloted time on earth, she has gone to her reward, but her works will live after her. May the sod press lightly over her grave and the brightest flowers grow around her tomb. Jay Em."
