Smith 16 Sept 1933; worked with him in his business, Fred Smith Motor Company, serving as bookkeeper. Member First United Methodist Church of Glasgow; active in the Tippie Piercy Circle there; long time Sunday School teacher; member Wed. morning Bible Study Class.

Son: Maurice Smith and wife Linda of Louisville, KY

Grandchildren: Dr. Mark Dougherty, Lenore Breeden, Dr. Jeanie Dassow and Amy Dougherty, all of Lexington; Tracy Simko and Michael Smith of Chicago, IL; Todd Smith, John Hudson and Ashley Hudson, all of Louisville.
18 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services: 2 pm Saturday 17 June 2000, church, burial Missionary Mound Cemetery in Metcalfe Co.
