Rev. W. T. Scott, known to hundreds of Barren county citizens, died at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma,
last week following a short illness.
A native of Barren county, he was born and reared on Mill Creek in the Freedom-Mt. Hermon section of
this county and was a son of the late George W.
and Martha Childress Scott. He taught in the rural schools of this county prior to moving to Oklahoma
where he entered the ministry.
Rev. Scott had planned to visit in Barren county around Decoration Day and take part in the Memorial
Day services at Poplar Log.
He is survived by a daughter, Miss Nona Scott, two sons, Messrs William and Alec Guy Scott. Children of
the late Mrs. J. R. (Cansada) Adwell, his sister, are nieces and nephews, among these being Messers H. C.
Adwell and Bronner Adwell, this city; one sister, Mrs. J. C. Riherd, and a brother, Mr. Clarence Scott,
both of Pasadena, Calif., and a brother, Mr. J. R. Scott, of Russellville, Ky. also surviving."
