Joseph Miller SABENS - 2 Aug 1857 - 24 Nov 1931
Mr. Joe Miller Sabens died at his home at Lucas, Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, at the age of 74 years. His wife died several years ago, but he is survived by five children, Mrs. W. C. McDaniel of Glasgow, Mrs.
Waddie Belcher and Mr. Charley Sabens of Lucas, Mr. Sam Sabens of Temple Hill and Mr. Bruce Sabens
of Nashville.
Mr. Sabens was born and reared in the Mt. Hermon country, but lived for some years in the Freedom
and Temple Hill country, and only a year or so ago, moved with his son to Lucas, to spend his remaining
days, which were few, as he died very suddenly.
Mr. Sabens is the last of his generation to pass away, unless it be his brother, Sam, who has not been
heard from for years.
He was a good, honorable citizen, and will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church at Temple Hill, today, at one o'clock, conducted by
Rev. W. N. Davis, followed by burial in the cemetery at Poplar Log.
