1945 graduate of Glasgow High School; 1947 graduate of Virginia Intermont College.
Member Glasgow Baptist Church, serving in numerous capacities including Youth Sunday School teacher for over 40 years; Scholarship Committee; Church Secretary. Active member and second vice chair of the Edmund Rogers Chapter of the DAR; many civil and community organizations.

Sons: Henry Royse and wife Terri Lou; Sam Bailey Royse and wife Jackie all of Glasgow and Charlie B. Royse and wife Barbara of Nashville, TN

Sister: Georgia Lou Wilson, Glasgow
Grandchildren: Henry Westerfield, Cara Lu, and Drews Biggers Royse of Glasgow and William Henry and Jane Bailey Royse of Nashville.
