The death of Miss Lucy Ellen Rogers, 86, occurred at the home of her nephew, Mr. Cal Rogers, near
town, last Sunday morning. She had been making her home at her nephew's, since moving from the
Union five section three years ago.
A member of the Methodist Church Miss Rogers, lived an exemplary life.
Two brothers, Charles H. and Joseph Rogers, both of Taylorsville, Ill [sic - Taylorville], survive.
Rev. Ernest Dixon conducted funeral services at the Rogers cemetery on the Lick
Branch road, Monday afternoon and the remains were interred there."
