Zona RENFRO - 29 Jan 1882 - 31 Mar 1939
"Funeral services for Mrs. Zona Renfro, 57, were held at the Cedar Grove Church Sunday morning at 11
o'clock, the Rev. Walter Church in charge. Interment was in the cemetery there.
"Mrs. Renfro died at the Samson Community Hospital Friday morning around 9 o'clock of pneumonia.
She had been in ill health the past two years. She was a devout member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist
Church and was a saintly character in every respect. truly, it can be said that a loveable and saintly
character has departed.
"Besides her husband, Mr. Thad R. Renfro, she is survived by the following children, all of whom live in
Barren County: Mrs. Cecie Lyons, Mr. T. J.
Renfro, Mr. William Neal Renfro, Mrs. Vada Barrick, Wendell, Sarah, Veachel, Elvin and Elvin Renfro, her
mother, Mrs. Ellen Brown; one sister, Mrs. Sam Francis and two brothers, Messrs Jack and Arthur
Brown, all of this county also survive."
