Member Board of Directors Louisville Chamber of Commerce, member of the U of L board of overseers, former chairman of the board of Kentucky Blue Cross/Blue Shield Deacon at Broadway Baptist Church Member of Louisville Country Club and Pendennis Club Promiment figure in Louisville's medical community, was a specialist in internal medicine before retiring in 1984. Past president of the Jefferson County Medical Society, Transylvania Medical Society, Louisville Society of Internal Medicine and Louisville and Kentucky Heart Associations. Active in American College of Physicians; awarded a mastership in the college in 1991 for his contribution to the medical profession. Held clinical appointments at the U of L School of Medicine; appointed emeritus clinical professor of medicine. Associate editor of the Journal of the Kentucky Medical Association, received recognition for his medical service in Kentucky, including the establishment of a medical reference library in his honor at Baptist Hospital East and in the initiation of a fund in his name by the V. V. Cooke Foundation tob e used by the U of L medical school to sponsor annual lecturshiip for distinguished visiting professors. Was named first physician laureate by the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Physicians.
