"Mr. Leroy Nichols died Monday of dropsy. He was about eighty years of age at the time of his death. He had lived for nearly a life time in the Vernon neighborhood in Barren County, but a few years ago his wife died of cancer. Since then he has made his home with Mr. W. I. Ward near here. He was buried Tuesday near Vernon at the Bowles burying ground."
