Began medical practice 1957, retired 1989. Was Mobile's first cardiovascular specialist and first to perform open heart surgery in Mobile. Received his bachelor of science degree in medicine and his M.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in 1949. Member of the AMA and certified by the American Board of Surgery; Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and American College of Chest Physicians, founding member of the American College of Thoracic Surgeons.
Military: Served both US Navy and US Army.
Son-in-law of the late Sam and Ruth Sears of Glasgow, KY.
