Graduate of Grayson Co High School and earned bachelor's and masters' degree in education at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. The Glasgow Independent School District recently named her Elementary Teacher of the yar for 2001. WBKO-TV in Bowling Green honored her earlier this year with its Hometown Hero Award for outstanding service to her community. Taught special education students for 18 years in the Grayson County, Caverna and Glasgow Independent Schools.
Daughter of: Dolores Povey and the late Fred G. Povey, Jr of Leitchfield.

Children: Etic, Beth, Mallory, Charlie and Alison, all of Glasgow.

Services: Public visitation 2-8 pm Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home, followed by a remembrance service at 8 pm Friday, 21 Dec 2001. Visitation from 3-8 1st Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Leitchfield. Services Saturday, 22 Dec 2001 First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Leitchfield with burial Rabbit Flats General Baptist Church near Caneyville.
