Son of: William Henry Motley (deceased) and Lucille Weaver Motley who survives of Scottsville.
Retired as a Major in the Army Kentucky National Guard; built and owned Motley Transfer Co and most recently served as a bus driver for the Glasgow City Schools. Active in the community as a past president of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Glasgow-Barren County Jaycees. Was a scorekeeper for the Glasgow High School basketball teams for 18 years including the state championship team in 1968. Initially developed the little league program in Glasgow. Served as campaign manager in Barren County for Governor Louie B. Nunn and later served under him as appropriations manager for Barren Co, a position from which he helped to get a number of roads built
for the county. Member Glasgow Baptist Church, deacon.

Services: 11 am Wednesday, 16 May 2001, Glasgow Baptist Church, A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. Burial Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, KY.
