Accidentally Killed. Mr. Joe Page, the young son of the late Mr. Flem Page, of this place, accidentally shot and killed his room mate at Bethel College last Friday. The particulars of the sad affair are given in the following despatch from that place:
"RUSSELLVILLE, KY., May 29. Frank Miller, a student at Bethel College, was accidentally shot and killed late yesterday afternoon by Joseph Page, a fellow student. Miller was from Hodgenville and Page from Glasgow. Page is protrated as a result of the accident.
Miller, Page and Tom Baird were all in the room together. Baird was trying to place a cartridge in his pistol, but could not get it exactly right and Page took the pistol to fix it for him, and while doing so, it was discharged. Miller was packing his trunk to go home. The ball struck Miller in the breast. Medical aid was at once summoned, but nothing could e done for him and he died a few hours afterward.
Page and Miller were room-mates and were the best of friends. Miller made a statement before he died saying that it was accidental. page is crazed with grief, and it is fear he will lose his mind.
Miller's parents arrived last night. His father is a prominent banker of Hodgenville. The remains will be taken to his late home today. Miller was one of the most popular young men in the college and was a member of the junior class.
Young Page came home from Russellville Sunday, and is in the deepest sorrow over the accident. He is a clever and most excellent boy, and has the sympathy of all his friends in this trouble."
