Name: Eugene J. Miller
Residence: Cave City, KY
Died: Monday, 24 April 2000, residence, extended illness, age 71.
Native of Cave City, long-time resident of Louisville; lived in Cave City for past 11 years.
1946 graduate of DuPont Manual High School; retired from retail management in
1989 after having served several grocery and hardware stores in Louisville.
Member South Park Country Club in Fairdale; serving on the Board of Directors and as Club President from 1972-1974. Kentucky Colonel, veteran of the Army Reserves. In 1993, he and other lay people and ministers joined to form Pathfinders, a local agency dedicated to serving the needs of the disadvantaged in the community. Was first President until resigning in 1999 due to health. In 1998, Cave City Chamber of Commerce proclaimed him "Citizen of the Year."
Member Highland United Methodist Church in Cave City, sang in the choir and served on the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and formerly, as church Treasurer.
Survivors:
Daughter: Maria Johnson and husband Kevin of Cave City
Granddaughter: Maria Elizabeth Johnson
Nephew: Craig Meuter of Louisville
Several cousins.
Preceded in death by:
Wife: Hundley Coolman Miller who died in 1997
Parents: Bessie and Andrew Miller of Cave City who died 1984.
Services: 2 pm Wednesday, 26 Apr 2000, Chapel of Winn Funeral Home, cremation.
