Mrs. Bettie Young MANSFIELD - 21 Nov 1847 - 3 March 1918

Mrs Bettie Young Mansfield, widow of Mr. D. Mansfield, died here Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock. Her death was due to a complication of diseases, but mostly heart disease, and occurred at the jail, where she was making her home with her son, Jailer Tom Mansfield. She was 71 years of age.

Before her marriage she was Miss Bettie Young, and was born at Roseville, but as a young woman was reared at Temple Hill.

She was a woman of many excellent traits and was greatly beloved by all because of her deeds of kindness and benevolence. She was a splendid neighbor and a fine woman in every way. For many years she had been a devoted member of the Methodist Church.

Only one child survives, Squire Tom Mansfield, who is the jailer of Barren County.

Buried Mansfield Cemetery, shown as Elizabeth Mansfield.

Undated Glasgow (KY) Times.
