Well Known Blind Man Dies Here Last Night.

Johnnie Mann Funeral Held At Crow's Funeral Home This Afternoon at Two O'Clock. Johnnie Mann, well-know blind man of Glasgow, died last night at his home following a stroke which he suffered about a week ago. He was 65 years of age.

The funeral services were conducted this afternnon at two o'clock at Crow's Funeral Home, Rev. T. H. Alderson officiating. Burial took place in the Glasgow Cemetery.

None of Mr. Mann's immediate family survives him. A number of nephews and nieces living outside the State survive him.

For many years Mr. Mann was a familiar figure on the streets of Glasgow, having sold fruit and other things for a living. Before his affliction, he was engaged in the hauling business. Forty years ago Johnnie Mann saw the light of day for the last time. Being a grown man at the time he lost his sight, he experienced even more difficulty in becoming adjusted to his handicap than those who go blind earlier in life. In spite of all that, thought, he managed to make a living, and owned his own home which he left unencumbered by debt. Even with the help that people were able to give him, it took a brave soul and a stout heart to battle the trials of life, as he did, in darkness and oft-times in pain.

There is no record of his burial there so date is unknown. Found in old scrapbook from an old Glasgow Times newspaper.
