"Mr. Mark Jewell Dead. The friends of the most excellent gentleman everywhere will be pained to hear of his death, which occurred at his home in the Green Plot country last Monday. Mr. Jewell was a good man, and enjoyed the respect and confidence of all who knew him. He was an old Confederate soldier, and was tenderly laid to rest by his old comrades yesterday afternoon."
