"Prof. W. C. Grinstead died Nov. 29, 1908 at Danville Ky. Had stroke Feb 23, 1907. Born Barren County Dec. 1, 1843. Was age 65. Survived by wife and dautghter, Mrs. J. W. Ireland of Stanford, Ky. Brother: James F. Grinstead (present Mayor of Louisville); Dr. R. H. Grinstead of Munfordville. Sisters: Mrs. Bettie A. Melvin and Mrs. Lucy Lewis of Danville. Member of Christian Church, Franklin Lodge No. 28 F&AM. Interred Bellvue Cemetery, Danville."
