"Mr. William Goad, 32, resident of Glasgow, R. 5, died at the Samson Community Hospital here Sunday afternoon at 1:10 o'clock of injuries suffered Saturday night around 7 o'clock when the automobile in which he was riding struck a bridge abutment at Elbow-Springs on the Burkesville road.

"Mr. Goad and brother-in-law, Leslie (Doc) Depp, were headed toward Glasgow when the accident occurred. Depp, driver of the machine, is thought to have lost control of the motor in striking the bridge. The car overturned in a ditch, Goad being pinned beneath the wreckage.

"Mr. Goad was admitted to hospital here Saturday night at 7:30 o'clock for treatment. Dep, who was thrown from the car, sustained minor injuries but was able to return home after receiving treatment. The car in which the two were riding was badly damaged.

"Besides his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Depp Goad, he is survived by one son, Bobby; his mother, Mrs. Rosa Goad; five brothers, Messrs. Herbert, James and Ed Goad, all of Glasgow; Paul and Frank Goad, of Iowa. Funeral services were conducted at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Maude Depp, in the Kino section Monday at 2 p.m. Burial was in the family cemetery near by."
