"IN MEMORIAM. Mrs. S. E. Gibson, wife of C. J. Gibson, and youngest daughter of Henry H. Burks, died
at her residence on West Main Street, Glasgow, Ky., December 16th, 1874.
"The bright spirit of this lovely young mother, wife, sister, daughter shook off mortality for a home
beyond the skies; leaving sad hearts to realize their loss, a thousand incidents of life, must painfully
recall. 'Tis sad for the young to die, just in the bloom of womanhood when the heart is thrilling with a
new sense of life and the bosom full of the roses of heaven; when all the faculities of nature have just
conspired to perfect, as it were, an organism in the perfect development of a mother's second self - a
darling infant baby! for this she would have lived, but the loss is her gain, and who can say aught than "thy will be done." She was attended in her brief illness by affectionate sisters and symphathetic
friends."
