Known as "Pappy Mack", farmer, blacksmith, well known maker of musical instruments, fiddles, guitars, banjos and dulcimers. He and his wife were owner/operators of Mack and Maida's Restaurant, the Greyhound Bus Station, and the Dixie Jamboree Country Music Show in Cave City.
