William Argus GEE - 4 Mar 1941/1942

"Mr. WIlliam Argus Gee, World War veteran and former resident of Glasgow, was found dead in bed at his home in Los Angeles, Calif, Wednesday, March 4. Death was caused by a heart attack. Funeral and burial services were held Friday at the Veteran's Cemetery in Los Angeles.

"A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J H Gee, he was born in the Mt Hermon section and moved to Glasgow with his parents while quite a small boy. His father was associated with the Barren County Grocery and Hardware Co. here for a number of years. Argus was employed by the Northrop Aviation Company in Los Angeles at the time of his death.

"He served several years in the U. S. Army and held the rank of corporal, sergeant and supply sergeant. He served on the Mexican Border and was a veteran of the World War. He was associated with the Co A. 3rd Kentucky Infantry and was stationed at Camp Stanley, Ky., and Camp Shelby, Miss., for some time. He later became a member of Co. F, 149th Infantry and of M. G. Company, 305th Infantry.

"He served in France from October 2, 1918 to April 4th, 1919. Following his return from France he was discharged, but sent several years in a Veteran's Hospital as [a] result of injuries redeived while in action in France.

"Surviving are his wife, a half-brother, Mr.J. Hascal Mitchell of the Hill Service Co., this city, and the following brothers and sisters: Mr Herschell L Gee, Beverly Hills Calif; Mrs. Hilda Rethlefsen, Monrovia, Calif, and .... rest missing
