"Mrs. Eugenia Garnett, wife of William Garnett, died yesterday at her home, 3422 Vernon avenue. Mrs. Garnet's death was caused by an acute attack of pneumonia, from which she had suffered for the last three weeks. Mrs. Garnett was born in Glasgow, Ky., in 1819. In 1840 her marriage to William Garnett took place and in 1862 she came to Chicago, whre she lived until her death. Her son, Christopher, enlisted in the Seventy-second regiment, Illinois volunteers, and was killed before Vicksburg in April, 1863. Ms. Garnett's funeral will take place at 10 o'clock Saturday from the family resident. Dr. Henson will officiate, and the burial will be at Graceland."
