Eugene Yeatman FERGUSON - 10 Jan 1858 - 15 Nov 1930
"Mr. E. Y. Ferguson, known to his host of friends as Yeatman Ferguson, died at his home on Race street, Saturday, midnight, after a lingering illness of a complication of diseases, at the age of 72 years.
"He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Rena Parrish, and one daughter, Mrs. Lee E. Botts of Wauseon, Ohio.
"Mr. Ferguson was born and reared in the southern part of the county, and was a member of a large famly, all of whom have passed away, unless perhaps Mr. Tom Ferguson, who was last heard from more than a year ago, and who was in Florida at that time.
"Mr. Ferguson was quite a prosperous citizen, and owned considerable property in town. He was County Surveyor for a number of years and enjoyed the confidence of the people in general.
"He was a member of the Baptist Church and of the Masonic fraternity.
"Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. A. Gaines and the burial was in the Glasgow Cemtery under the auspicies of the Masons."
