Extensive naval career as fighter pilot during WW II; earned Distinguished Flying Cross, 8 air medals, 2 presidential citations. Fought in several air battles in the Pacific theatre, helped sink a Japanese battleship and a destroyer. Held the rank of Lt. Commander at the close of his career. Completed his degree in Pharmacy and Pre-Med at Purdue University, received his M.D. at Toulane Univresity, New Orleans.
Moved to Spokane, WA to serve internship; ran a private practice there for 18 yrs. Served then 2 years in South Vietnam s Chief Health Officer for a government health organization. After his return worked as director of emergency services in hospitals in ID before leaving for Saudi Arabia where he also served in the medical field. Came back to America in 1981 to live in Post Falls. Was senior staff member of 3 hospitals in Spokane; member of the board of directors and president of the Spokane Medical Socity. Active in Spokane Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and other civil organizations.
