Was One of Finest Ladies County Has Ever Known; Member Church of Christ For Forty Years; Burial Was In Cemetery at This Place Last Saturday Afternoon.

Mrs. John H. Beals, one of the finest christian character this coummunity ever knew, passed to reward March nineteenth, at her home here. Mrs. Beals was in her 73rd year. Death was caused by complications of diseases incident to old age.

Her husband and five children survive - three sons, Messers. Isaac, W. D., and George Beals, and two daughters, Misses Callie and Mary Beals. Four grandchildren also mourn her loss.

Funeral was at the home place Saturday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. James J. Reynolds, of the Green Street Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. T. H. Alderson and Mr. R. A. Palmore.

Before marriage, Mrs. Beals was Miss Elizabeth G. Smith. She was born Feb. 11, 1853. On Nov. 25, 1869, she was united in marriage to Mr. John H. Beals, to whom she ever remained a devoted, loving companion. Together they counted off the years as they rolled by; together they shared joys and vicissitudes of a full life. They found the joy, the perfect accord that rarely is the part of mortal -- they found all this and shared it together.

Mrs. Beals was a member of the Church of Christ for forty years, and was one of the most devoted, intense christians of the community.

Mrs. Beals went about doing good; she was [a] splendid wife and companion and the finest of mothers. Truly, has it been said that "she was one of the purest and best women that ever lived in Glasgow."
