Died: Thursday, 24 Feb 2005, residence as a result of an aneurysm, age 46.
Senior managing partner at Bastien & Lacy Law Firm in Charleston where he had lived for 20 years. Was a senior All-American in the 100-yard dash, former YMCA Volunteer of the Year, an Eagle Scout. Graduated from Centre College in Danville KY where he was a member of
the Track and Field Hall of Fame, and still holds various records. A graduate of the University of Kentucky School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. Had been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who Among American Lawyers, Who's Who Among Young American Professionals and Who's Who Among International Lawyers. He was admitted to the U. S. District Court in and for the Northern and Southern Districts of WV and was admitted to practice law in WV, KY, PA and the Supreme Court of the United States, and has litigated cases in State and/or Federal Courts in WV, KY, VA, IL and PA.
He is survivived by:

Parents: Paul and Frances Bastien of Glasgow
Brothers: Charles of Miami FA, James of Bowling Green KY and David of Glasgow
Services were held Monday, 28 Feb 2005, Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home in Charleston WV. Cremation followed with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens in South Charleston WV. Memorial services will be held locally at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Glasgow on Saturday, 5 Mar 2005, 11 am; with a time of fellowship and luncheon First United Methodist Church on S. Green Street, Glasgow.
