Daughter of James Allen Matthews and Lillie Belle Depp Matthews
Life-long resident of Barren County, member First Christian Church. Named "Mother of the Year" in 1966 and received the Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen Award in 1971. Among her special committments was her devotion to the Glasgow Scottie Band as the designer and seamstress of the Scottish kilts. A devoted sports fan, she supported all Glasgow Scottie teams and the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Served in church for many years as Cradle Roll Superintendent. She will be remembered for her generosity, love, wit, sense of humor and recollection of family history, especially her ability to tell a good story.

Children: Pryntha Alexander Hardenbergh (Murray) of Lexington KY, Patricia Alexander Nielsen (Chris) of Lexington, Robert M Alexander (Zara) of Glasgow, Judy Alexander Stokes (Bob) of Glasgow, Anna Margarette Alexander Wilson (Bobby Day) of Nicholasville, and Bobby Chapman (Joan) of Dalton, GA
Grandchildren: Meg Travis (Bill), John T. Alexander (Holly), Ashley Donovan (Derek), Andrea Nielsen, Erik Nielsen (Cristy), Nathan Day WIlson (Janice), Adam Wilson (Delena), Shana Langley (Michael), Allison Stokes, Russell Chapman (Michelle) and Rob Chapman (Jackie).
11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews
