Private, VA militia. Born June 18, 1752 in Louisa Co, VA. Entered service 1776 in Louisa Co, VA where he then lived. Pension began March 4, 1831. Certificate issued Jan. 28, 1833.

Sergant, VA line. Born May 25, 1761. Died in Nov. 1834. Enlisted fall of 1778. He was then living in Louisa Co., VA. Matilda Bagby, widow of John Bagby, born Nov. 19, 1772. Maiden name Matilda Davis. John Bagby and Matilda Davie, married Dec. 20, 1792 in Amherst Co., VA. Sylvanus M. Bagby relationship not stated, states he has known Matilda Bagby 47 years, and that John and Matilda Bagby lived in VA until 1817 when they moved to Barren Co, KY. ames Murrell, Justice of the Peace, testifies that Sylvanus M. Bagby is a minister of the gospel in good standing in the Baptist Church. Family record from Bible leaves enclosed. It is old and faded and a few words are illegible.

Private Va Line, born 1764 in Sussex Co., Va, entered service 1780 in Sussex Co., Va. Lived in that county till he moved to Ky. Benjamin Baily, a clergyman, formerly of Barren Co., but now (in 1832) of Allen Co., Ky. signs an affidavit. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued July 15, 1833.

Private and Sergt. Va. Line. Born 1754 in Louisa Co., Va. volunteered at Goochland, C.H. Va under Capt. Richard Bibb in 1777. Relationship not stated. Moved to Ky in 1807, is a resident of Green Co. (not Barren Co.) Ky when he makes application for pension in 1832. Pension began March 4, 1831(?). Certificate issued July 15, 1833.
 
BOON, ELISHA Pension #S35196
Private, NC Line, born 1754. Entered service July 1778 in Nash Co., NC on Feb. 1, 1821, he says his family consistes of Alsey Boon his wife about 20 years old, Anderson his oldest son 7 years old, Josiah his second son 4 years old, Eliza his daughter 2 years old. On 7th June 1824, he asks to be transferred from the NC to the Ky Roll. Pension began Feb. 3, 1821, certificate issued Oct. 4, 1821.

Private. NC militia. Born March 25, 1754 in Dobbs Co, NC. Enlisted 1776 in Guilford Co, NC where he was then living. 14 years after the war he moved to Franklin Co., VA for 18 years then to Barren Co., KY. Died March 21, 1839. On the back of one of the penson papers is written: Jesse Boyd, Dec. 17/55, but there is nothing to explain it. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued May 30, 1833.
 
BROWNLEE, JOHN Pension #S35799
Private Va. Line, born 1759. Enlisted 1777 in Augusta Co., Va. On June 26, 1820, he states that "I have a wife an old woman, also 4 daughters and a grand daughter living with me, by name Sally, age 25, Polly age 22, Jane age 16, Caroline age 12, my grand daughter aged 4 years. I have 2 sons that are upwards of 21 years of age, at times they make my house their home, but they are laboring for their own support. Pension began May 29, 1818, certificate issued Sept. 6, 1819. (Later, a son, William Brownleed, testifies his father lives with him.)
 
BUFORD, SIMEON or SIMON S1180
Private and ensign, Va line. Born Dec. 19, 1757 in Culpepper Co., Va. lived in Culpepper Co. till about 1789 when he moved to Barren Co., Ky. Volunteered 1775 at Culpepper Court House, Va, a Minuet Man under Capt. (later Col.) Abraham Buford. Relationship not stated, but on Nov. 6, 1833, Jos. Ficklin writes to the Com. of Pensions asking that the name of Simon Buford be changed on the records to read "Simeon" the proper name of the gentlemand whi is wll known in this state and in Va. as the brother of the unfortunate Abraham Buford, who sustained such a dreadful defeat in South Carolina during the war of the Revolution. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Oct. 18, 1833.

Private, Maryland and Va lines. Born Jan. 18, 1759 in Prince George Co., Maryland , when quite young was taken by his father to Charles Co., Maryland , where he lived till he was 19 or 20. In the 2nd year of the war he moved with his father to Prince William Co., Va. Later he lived in Fauquier Co., Va. for 16 or 17 years. Then he moved to Amherst Co., Va for 16 years, then to Barren Co., Ky. When first called into service he lived in Charles co., Maryland. Pension began March 4, 1831. Certificate issued Aug. 24, 1833. Died March 1, 1834

Private, Va. Militia, born March 16 1766 in Spotsylvania Co., Va. Entered service Sept. 1780 (when 14 1/2 years old) in Spotsylvania Co., Va as substitute for Thos. Coleman. Later served as substitute for his father, for David Lively, for Richard Dillard, for Bradley Matthews, for his father, for David Lively. Joseph Carter of Monroe Co., Ky. testifies he knew Philip Carter serving as substitute for Thos. Coleman, Richard Dillan, Bradley Matthews, for my father John Carter and for my brother in law, David Lively. I was young but the above is well recollected. Pension Began March 4, 1831, certificate issued May 31, 1833

Born 1768. Maiden name Lucy Strother. She married Thomas Coleman, in the forepart of the month of May in 1785 in Culpepper Co., Va.On 29th Dec. 1840, Samuel Strother testifies he has known Lucy Coleman over 60 years and was present at her marriage. On Dec. 17, 1832. John Duff and Wm. Grayson Testify that they knew Thomas Coleman who is now dead, leaving a wife, Lucy Coleman and several children. Pension of Lucy Coleman began March 4, 1843, certificate issued Sept. 6, 1843.

Private, Va. Militia. Born Feb. 21, 1757, in Albemarle Co., Va. After the war he lived about 30 years. In Franklin Co., Va. From there he moved to Barren Co, Ky for 2 years then to Cumberland Co, Ky for 10 years, then back to Barren Co. First called out in 1778 in Albemarle Co, Va. Mentions a brother, John Craig, who lives in Barren Co, Ky. On April 14, 1834, applies for a transfer from the Ky Roll as he is moving to Pike Co., Mo. But he did not like it there and returned to Ky. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Nov. 28, 1833. Trans. to Mo May 8, 1834, retransferred to Ky Jan. 12, 1836
DENTON, DAVID Pension #W8662
Private Va. Line, born Dec. 25, 1755, in Albemarle Co., Va. From Albemarle Co, he moved to Fayette Co., Ky. where he was married and lived 12 years and from there moved to Barren Co., KY. Enlisted March 1776 served 4 years. Served as substitute for his brother, Charles Denton, who was sick. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Jan. 28, 1833. Died May 18, 1838 in Barren Co., Ky.

Entered service in fall of 1780 at Powhatan C.H. When called into service he lived in Powhatan Co., Va. Since then to Buckingham Co., Va. then in Chesterfield Co., then back to Powhatan Co., came to Ky. in 1793. Lived in Fayette Co., Ky. 7 years, then moved to Barren Co., Ky. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Sept. 26, 1833.
 
DISHMAN, SALLY (Widow of William Dishman) Pension #R2965
Born 20th Sept. 1763 in Goochland Co., VA. Maiden name Sally Salmons. Sally Salmons and William Dishman, married Feb. 15, 1782 in Bedford Co., Va. and in 1810 moved to Ky. Nancy Dishman, wife of Jeremier Dishman, brother of William Dishman, testifies she was present at the marriage of William and Sally. Sally Dishman died July 7, 1839, had applied for pension May 16, 1839. William Dishman, son of William and Sally Dishman id administrator of his Mothers estate.

Private Va. Line, born 1758. Enlisted Feb. 15, 1776 in Albemarle Co., Va. Discharged March 4, 1778 "by Gen. Washinton at Valley Forge in Pennsylvana". On 15th Nov. 1824, states his family consists of himself and his wife, "but she has been crippled about 7 years". Pension began Feb. 22, 1825, certificate issued May 6, 1825.

Remained in Fauquier for 4 years after the war, then moved to S.C. for 10 years then moved to Barren Co., Ky. Enlisted Sept. 24, 1777 in Fauquier Co., Va. Jacob Gibson, Jr. give testimony. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Ja 1833. Died Feb. 8, 1829 in Barren Co, Ky.
 
GIBSON, MARY (Widow of Jacob Gibson) R3998
Born 9 Nov. 1762. Maiden name Mary Box. Mary Bos and Jacob Gibson married Sept. 2, 1784 in Lawrence Co., S.C. Aug. 14, 1854 in DeCalb Co., Alabama, Jacob W. Gibson, testifies he is the only survining child of Jacob and Mary Gibson. Says his mother Mary Gibson died Aug. 11, 1841. Nov. 16, 1854 in Edmonson Co., Ky. Harris Gibson testifies Mary Gibson died at my house in Aug. 1841, and by referring to the record I know it was that month and year. Relationship of the above Harris Gibson not stated.
 
GORIN, ELIZABETH (Widow of John Gorin) W25643
Born 1793. Maiden name Elizabeth Duvall. John Gorin and Elizabeth Duvall married May 26, 1825 in Barren Co, Ky. by Rev. Jacob Lock. A son, Thomas J. Gorin give testimony. F. Gorin a son of John Gorin by a former wife gives testimony to identify the widow, Elizabeth Gorin. The widow Elizabeth Gorin, states that her late husband John Gorin served --- days in the war of 1812, that he enlisted as a Capt. and was promoted to Major, this is confirmed by testimony of Drury Clark. Samuel S. Duvall and Edward M. Duvall, relationship not stated, testify to establish the identity of the widow, Elizabeth Gorin. Pension of Elizabeth Gorin began Feb. 3, 1853, certificate issued Sept. 24, 1856.

GOODIN, CHARLOTTE (Widow of Lewis Goodin) Pension #W2608
Born 1765, maiden name Charlotte Edwards. Charlotte Edwards and Lewis Goodin, married Feb. 25, 1820 in Barren Co., Ky. by Rev. Ralph Petty. On Aug. 3, 1853 Lewis Goodin and Nancy Goodin testify they are children of Lewis and Charlotte Goodin and are both over 50 years of age. Elijah Edwards of Taylor Co., Ky. testify on July 21, 1853 he is a brother of Charlotte Goodin of Marion Co., Ky. He is about 58. He saya "sometime after Lewis Goodin received his penson he removed rom Barren Co., to Casey Co., where he and his wife and family resided till he died in 1837. Then the widow, Charlotte Goodin, moved to Marion Co., Ky. where she now lives. Pension of Charlotte Goodin began Feb. 3, 1853, certificate issued Oct. 11, 1853.

Private Va. Line, born about 1761. He enlisted 1780, was living in Culpepper Co., Va. at that time. Pension geban March 4, 1831, certificate issued Ocr. 22, 1832. He died Nov. 4, 1837 in Cassey Co., Ky.
 
GREEN, THOMAS Pension #S32279
Private Va. Line. Born 30th May 1760 in Goochland Co., Va. Lived in that county when he entered the service in 1780. In March 1851, he is living in Effingham Co., Ill. and mentions that he has a son living there. At the same time and place, James Green relationship not stated identifies Thomas Green. May 23, 1860, Harmon Green writes to the Pension office from Rockford, Cook Co., Ala. to inquire if children of Revolutionary soldier are entitled to bounty in any way, and states his father was Thomas Green. He asks if his brother Joshua Green, made application for bounty, and if he received it. Pension began march 4, 1831, certificate issued Aug. 17, 1833.

Private Va. Artillery. Enlisted 1781, from Henrico Co., Va. On Oct. 16, 1848, he is living in Salim Co., Mo. and applies for transfer from Ky. to Missouri, saying he moved to Missouri to accompany his relatives and better his condition. On that day Littleberry Goodman and Thomas Gooman identify Thomas Goodman. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Aug. 3, 1829.

Private 1st U.S. Rifleman. War of 1812. Born 1797 near Lexington Ky. Died 28th Jan. 1860 in Hart Co., Ky., Enlisted June 1812 at Glasgow, Barren Co., KY. Discharged 12th June 1815. Penison began June 13, 1815, certificate issued May 24, 1819.
 
HARBOUR, LOUISA F. (Widow of Jeremiah Harbour) #125-55
Born 1814, Louisa F. Estes and Jeremiah Harbour married March 19, 1837 at Scottsville, Tenn. by James Ferguson. She states her husband Jeremiah D. Harbour had been married before the name of his first wife being Nancy Behan. She has resided in Marion Co., Kansas since 1874. On Oct. 9, 1878 Jeremiah Harbour, aged 39, and a residen of Grant Co., Marion Co., Kansas swears to the identity of Louisa F. Harbour

Private, Va. Line born Aug. 25, 1755 in Cumberland Co, Va. Entered service May 1776 in Buckingham Co.., Va. after the war he lived in Henry and Patrick Counties, Va., and from thence to Barren Co., Ky. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Nov. 28, 1833.
 
HARRIS, LYDIA (Widow of William Harris)
Born Aug. 30, 1762. Maiden name not stated, married to William Harris March 23, 1782 in Henry Co., Va. by Nathan N. Hall, a Baptist Minister. John Renfro, Sr., aged 79 and his wife Ester Renfro age 75, testify they have known Lydia Harris over 60 years, and were present at the Marriage of Lydia and William Harris. Lydia Harris died 11 May 1848. On Aug. 21, 1848 John R. Harris, administrator, of estate of Lydia Harris applies "for myself and the other children" for her pension from March 4, 1836 to April 22, 1838. Pension of Lydia Harris, began April 22, 1838, certificate issued Feb. 29, 1840

Private Pa. Line, born 1759 or 60 in Bucks Co., Pa. Entered service 1776 in Philadelphia Co., Pa. where he then lived. Later moved to Lancaster, Pa. After the war he lived in Pa., Md., Va., and Tenn., from whence he moved about 1811 to Barren Co., Ky. Pension began March 4, 1831, Certificate issued Jan. 28, 1833. Died march 5, 1839
 
HISER, SARAH (Widow of John Hiser) Pension #W8932
Born 1768. Maiden name Sarah Fancher. Sarah Fancher and John Hiser married Fab. 3, 1792 in Knox Co., Tenn. by Wm. Reno or Runno, a Baptist Minister. On Nov. 3, 1843, Elizabeth Forbis, age 66 testifies to being present at the marriage of Sarah Fancher and John Hiser, she adds they had a numberous and large family of children and she mentions specifically, Benjamin Hiser? the eldest son, who will be 51 on Nov. 15, 1843. Pension of Sarah Hiser, began March 4, 1836, certificate issued Sept. 26, 1849

Private and Sergt. Va. Militia. Born 15th June 1755. In Charles City, Co., Va. and lived there during all of his services. Entered service, Oct. 1775 in Charles City Co., Va. Mentions visiting a brother in June 1781 in Charlotte Co., Va. 1784 moved to Halifax Co., Va. and from thence in 1814, to Barren Co., Ky. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued May 30, 1833.
 
HUNT, JONATHAN Pension #S18048
Private N.C. Line. Born 1760. Entered service in Rowan Co., N.C. Nov. 7, 1843. Applied for transfer from Ky. to Mo. Roll saying "many of his children had removed from Ky. to Mo." He was then in Morgan Co., Mo. On Nov. 10, 1833, Abel Hunt, brother of Johnathan Hunt, testifies that he lived with their father, Daniel Hunt, serving as a soldeir at various times, he himself did not serve being then about 16 and is now 69. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued April 3, 1833.
 
JAMESON, GEORGE
Living in Augusta County at that time. In 1786 moved to Fayettey Co., Ky. then to Nelson Co., Ky and finally to Barren Co., in 1813. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Oct. 11, 1833. John Jameson says he has no record of his birth, but his father's record i now in possession of Mrs. Lucy Pottinger in Nelson Co., Ky.

Private Va. Militia. Born May 9, 1745. In Essex. Co., Va. Resided at enlistment in Brunswick Co., Va. In 1806 or 7, moved to Warren Co., Ky. then to Allen Co., and finally in 1821 to Barren Co. Sampson Jones, son of Richard Jones gives testimony. Pension began March 4, 1831, certificate issued Oct. 18, 1833.

Private Va. Lline, born 1758. Entered service 1776. On Nov. 7, 1822, Mary Ritter testifies she is a sister of John Kelly and she mentions sister Wilson. A statement by Elizabeth Byly or Byby saying she remember her brother, John Kelly, bein in service on Oct. 16, 1820. John Kelly's wife is living and is aged 60. Pension began Aug. 11, 1818, certificate issued April 10, 1822.

KEY, SARAH (Widow of Price Key)
Born 1761, maiden name Sarah McQueen. Sarah McQueen and Price Key married March 17, 1786 in Fauquier Co., Va. Alexander Key aged 66 testifies Oct. 10, 1839 in Mason Co., Ky that he remembers when his uncle Price Key was married to Sarah McQueen. That Price Key and his family moved to Ky in the fall of 1792 and that he visited his uncle Price Key in Clarke Co., Ky. On Oct. 10, 1839 in Mason Co., Ky Peyton R. Key states that he remembers his uncle Price Key came to the home of Deponent's father in the uniform of a soldier and that after the war Price Key lived at the home of the deponent's father. The clerk of the court in Mason Co., Ky who took the depositions of Alexander Key and Peyton R. Key was Marshall Key. On July 3, 1855, Anderson Johns and Salley Ann Pettit give testimony in Montgomery Co., Ky and Anderson Johns being son-in-law of Sarah Key and Salley Ann Pettit being daughter of Anderson Johns and granddaughter of Sarah Key

LYNN, MARY (Widow of Isreal Lynn) Pension #W9150
Born 1766. Maiden name Mary Smith. Mary Smith and Israel Lynn married Sept. 29, 1785 in Rowan Co., N.C. by Simon Sims, minister. Henry Lynn testifies 24th June 1847 that he was eleven years old at the time of the marriage of Israel Lynn and Mary Smith and that he lived with them for some years. A list of surviving children is included with Mary Lynn's pension applications. It gives: James Lynn, Elizabeth Wallin, John Lynn, Nancy Walton, Rebecca M. Martin, and Mary Dupoister. Rebecca Martin died May 1849 leaving: Harrison W.. Martin, Israel Martin and Joseph Martin. Pension of Mary Lynn began March 4, 1843, certificate issued June 22, 1849. Mary Lynn died Feb. 4, 1844, at home of Wilson and Mary dupoister, in Ohio Co., Ky. She had lived there for ten years. Wilson B.M. Dupoister administrator of estate of Mary Lynn.
