Barren County Kentucky Deeds 1896 to: McCoy GC, JHR from: G H Wells at all
This deed between G. H. Wells & E. B. Tolle of the first part, and J. H. R. McCoy and G. C. McCoy of the second part, Witnesseth: that the said party of the first part, in consideration of (#125oo) One Hundred & twenty five dollars cash in hand paid and a note of hand for #150) One Hundred & Fifty dollars bearing ever date with this deed to secure which deferred payments a lien is hereby retained on the property hereafter described, do hereby sell, grant, and convey to the party of the second part, their heirs and assigns, the following described property, viz: A tract of land in Slick Rock present Barren County Kentucky, and bounded as follows: Begining at a white oak N. & E. 32 poles to a poplar, thence N. 15 1/2 E. 17 poles to Ford's corner, thence E. 35 poles to a stone, thence S. 16 W. 185 poles to a stone, thence S. 63 E. 11 poles to a polar stump near the Ran dolph road, thence S. 72 1/2 E. 42 poles to the begining, containing 41 acres more or less. To have and to hold the same, and the appertuances thereon, to the second party, their heirs and assigns forever, with covenant of "General Warranty". In Testimony whereof, witness our signatures this fifth day of April 1893.

State of Kentucky Barren County. sct. I, N. D. Terry, clerk of the Barren County Court, sertify that the forgoing deed to J.H.R. McCoy was on the 5th day of April 1893, acknowledged by G. H. Wells and his wife Lizzie Wells and E.B. Tolle to be their act and deed before D. W. Neal this day acting deputy clerk for J. T. Wooten a former clerk of said Court as appears from his in- dorsement thereon as follows: "Acknowledged by G. H. Wells & his wife Lizzie Wells, & E. B. Tolle to be thier act and deed. This April the 5th 1893 J. T. Wooten BCC By D.W. Neal DC" And was on this day filed in my office for records, and the same and this certificate have been recorded therein.
