This indenture made this 18th day of October 1825 between Edmond Rogers and Mary his wife of the county of Barren and state of Kentucky of the one part and Loami Whitney of the said county and state, of the other part. Witness to the said Edmond Rogers for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred dollars paper of the Bank of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted, bargained, and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Loami Whitney a certain tract or parcel of land in the county of Barren and on Peter’s Creek containing the thirty eight acres be the same more or less which was granted to said Rogers by patent bearing date the 14th of October 1819. A a djoining [as written] the uper [as written] line of William Croghans lower 500 acres survey on said Creek and bounded as followith [as written] (to Wit, Beginning at a poplar and two white oaks, on a bluff the West side of the creek on the upper line of said Croghans 500 acres survey, running with said line North 20 ½ West and 114 poles to an Elm in the lower end of a bottom thence up the creek with its meanders , East 38 poles and S 81 E. 42 poles S 44 E 40 poles S 46 West 50 poles S 27 W 63 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appertainances [as written] thereupon belonging unto the said Loami Whitney[in between these two lines this is written in very small print, and this Edmond Rogers & Mary his wife for themselves and their heirs, the said tract or parcel of land with its appertanances[ as written] ____ the said Loami Whitney & his heirs and assigns] his heirs and assigns will by these presents forever warrant and defend against the claim of all persons whatever, In witnep [ as written] whereof the said Edmond Rogers and Mary his wife have hereunto set their hand and seals the and year above written.

I, William Logan Clerk of the County Court aforesaid do certify the this Deed of Conveyance from Edmond Rogers and Mary his wife to Loami Whitney was theis day acknowledged before me in my office by the said Edmond Rogers to be his act and deed . Whereupon the said Deed and this certificate hath been duly admited [as written] to record in my office given under my hand this 18th day of October 1825.
