Isaac & Patsy Moore to Martin Franklin

This Indenture made this 20th day of October 1842 between Isaac Moore & wife of the County of Barren & State of Kentucky of the one part & Martin Franklin of the Same County & State of the other part Witnesseth that the said Isaac Moore for & in Consideration of the Sum of five hundred dollars in hand and the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and by these presents (?) bargain & sell unto the said Martin Franklin a certain tract or parcel of land Situated in the Said County of Barren & State aforesaid on the waters of Sinking Creek containing 299 acres be the Same more or less & bounded as follows: beginning in the lower end of the grove on a sugartree running then East 156 poles to a post Oak now dead & a rock set up then S 10 E 32 poles to a rock in Branstetter's Run then with the Same S 15 W 160 poles to two black Jacks now dead & a rock Set up Branstetter's (?) thence S 85 W 60 poles to Branstetters line thence with the Same S 29 W 47 poles to a white Oak on a branch then S 47 W 86 poles to two post Oaks now dead & a rock Set up then N 44 W 40 poles to a blazed Saplin then N 59 W 53 poles to 3 red Oaks then N 5 E 72 poles to a red Oak then N 17 E 108 poles to a rock then S 81 E 44 poles to two post Oaks then N 50 E 65 poles to the beginning. The said Martin Franklin to have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land to him and the heirs and assigns forever and the said Isaac Moore & his wife & his heirs doth covenant and agree to warrant and defend the aforesaid 299 acres of land warrant with its appurtenances to the said Martin Franklin & his heirs & assigns, forever against the claim of all heirs or whomever. In witness whereof the said Isaac Moore and Patsey Moore his wife hath before me set their hands & seals this date & year first above written.

State of Kentucky, Barren County To wit::
I Thomas J. Halen, Clerk of the County Court for Said County certify that the deed from Isaac Moore & Patsey his wife to Martin Franklin was on this day acknowledged before me by the Said Moore to be his act & deed and the Said Patsey being examined before me privately and apart from her husband and declared that the deed freely and willingly Seal & deliver & writing (?) not to restrict it and acknowledges the said writing again Shown & explained to her by me to be her act and deed and Consent with that the (?) may be recorded whereupon the Same & this Certificate has been recorded in my office Given under my hand this 21st day of October 1842.
