SALE FAMILY GRAVEYARD
Located on Jimmy Doyle Cox Road on Old Kyle Monroe Farm , owned presently by Mr.
Gabbart.
The Samuel Sale Family moved to Mercer County (Now Anderson)in 1800 and the
buring ground is on the farm that he settled ,And part of "The Old Home
Place" is owned by DR. Dana Dahlen on Bond's Mill Rd.
The 16 graves are aligned in 3 rows facing East -West ,and enclosed by a waist
high stone fence.

John was CSA soldier KIA at Battle of Augusta KY. Sept.27 1862 A 4ft tall
headstone is placed here , but unsure if his body was returned from battlefield.

Another is Clayton Sale son of Samuel & Elizabeth
Clayton was War of 1812 veteran serving at least 2 enlistments as a pvt. in
Capt. Peter Jordan's Company , and also as pvt. in Capt. Robert McAfee's Company
of Col. Johnson's Regiment of Kentucky Mounted Volunteers where he took part in
Battle of Thames Oct. 5 1813
William D. & Catherine Cardwell Sale are my ancesters and also the great
grandparents of Forrest "Aggie" Sale a standout athlete at Kavanaugh
School in Lawrenceburg , and a college Basketball All American at University of
Kentucky
