MacCOUN / McCOUN CEMETERY
The MacCoun Family Cemetery is near Alton on private property well back in the woods.
It is near the edge of a pasture and surrounded by a rock wall.
The remnants of a house or barn are between the cemetery and the headwaters of Benson Creek. We found four readable stones.
A fifth large stone was broken into three pieces. This stone and the associated footstone appeared to have had a type of
cement layer that probably had the name imprinted but had flaked away.
